Common questions
How current is the information?
Boat positions and space are refreshed from WSDOT about every 30 seconds. If WSDOT's data is late or missing, the app says so instead of showing old numbers as current.
My widget isn't updating.
Open the app once: that refreshes the widget and its route. After that, iPhone widgets update about every 5 minutes and Android widgets about every 15 minutes; your phone may update them less often in Low Power or Battery Saver mode.
Which route does the widget show?
The one you choose in the app's widget settings. Alerts follow the same route.
I'm not getting alerts.
Check that alerts are on in the app's widget settings and that notifications for Find My Ferry are allowed in your device's settings. Alerts are sent when a route is suspended or reduced, when service is restored, and when a sailing is cancelled.
What does "spaces left" mean?
The number of drive-up car spaces WSDOT reports as still open on that sailing. Reserved spaces aren't included.
Is this the official ferry app?
No. Find My Ferry is independent and isn't affiliated with or endorsed by Washington State Ferries or WSDOT. For official notices, fares, and reservations, see WSDOT's ferries site.
